February 4, (Thursday)  Omar Khadr: Citizenship, Politics, and the Rule of Law - Departments of Political Science and Sociology and Criminology are hosting Audrey MacKlin, professor of Law at the University of Toronto.  She has been very active in the Omar Khadr case since 2007.  Free public lecture in the McNally Theatre Auditorium on February 4, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.  [Poster]

February 8 - 11, (Monday-Thursday) Visions Memories and Realities: Screening Black Civil Rights: A four-day film series marking the 20th anniversary of the release of Nelson Mandela.

February 10, (Wednesday) The Essential James Reaney - 7:00pm in the Saint Mary's University Art Gallery in the Loyola Building, 5885 Gorsebrook Ave.  This mid-winter evening, various Halifax poets and readers of poetry gather to read and celebrate James Reaney’s poems, and to launch the newest book in Porcupine’s Quill’s “Essential” series – an exciting, greatly entertaining choice of Reaney’s poetry written from the early 1940's into the 21st century. [Poster]

February 12, (Friday) Study in Angers, France Information Session - 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the Flex Room (MM201).  There are 4 levels of language instruction: beginner, elementary,
intermediate and advanced.  Receive SMU credits while living in a different country and absorbing a different culture and language. [Poster]
